The All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) has registered an early and decisive success in the ongoing Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) Constituent Colleges Students’ Union Election 2025, with its candidates securing three General Secretary posts uncontested in the DM College of Arts, Science, and Commerce.
According to official election scrutiny results, 22 out of 39 secretary posts across the five constituent colleges of DMU have been declared uncontested, signalling a smooth start to the student body elections.
Uncontested Victories Reflect Broad Student Support
The three AMSU candidates who won uncontested as General Secretaries were felicitated by the AMSU Central Team led by President Bruce Pebam, who congratulated them for their efforts and expressed optimism about their leadership in student affairs.
“We extend our warmest congratulations to all the newly elected representatives of Dhanamanjuri University. Their responsibility goes beyond politics — it’s about upholding the rights, welfare, and academic progress of students,” said Bruce Pebam during the felicitation ceremony.
AMSU leaders described the unopposed victories as a sign of trust and confidence from the student community, particularly in a year where campus elections have drawn significant attention following the reactivation of student bodies after long disruptions.
Upcoming Elections on November 10
While several posts have already been filled unopposed, the contested elections for the remaining positions — including President, Vice President, and other Secretarial posts — will take place on November 10, 2025, across key constituent colleges such as DM College of Arts, GP Women’s College, LMS Law College, and DM College of Science.
The DMU Students’ Union Election is being seen as a vital moment for reviving democratic participation in campus governance, with various student organisations, including AMSU and others, actively contesting for representation.

Dhanamanjuri University, a cluster university formed by merging several of Manipur’s oldest and most reputed colleges — DM College of Arts, DM College of Science, DM College of Commerce, GP Women’s College, and LMS Law College — has traditionally played a pivotal role in shaping student leadership in the state.
The 2025 elections mark a significant return to active student representation after several years of administrative restructuring and academic interruptions.
