Deputy Commissioner Shri Dharun Kumar S on Monday conducted a spot enquiry and field-level review of ongoing road projects being executed by the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) along NH-102B, expressing dissatisfaction over the pace of work in critical stretches.
The inspection was carried out in the presence of ADC Mualnuam Shri Thangboi Gangte, with particular focus on Package 4A and 4B, covering the stretch between Songtal and Tuivai Bridge. During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner made it clear that the present speed of execution was inadequate, especially considering Manipur’s short and weather-dependent working season.
“Work on War Footing”
Directing NHIDCL officials to step up execution immediately, the Deputy Commissioner stressed that delays at this stage would have major implications for connectivity, public convenience, and overall development in the district.
“The current working window is limited. It must be fully utilised,” he said, instructing NHIDCL teams to adopt a war-footing approach to accelerate construction activities.
He also issued clear instructions to achieve maximum physical progress on works under Package 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B, underlining the administration’s expectation that visible improvements be delivered within the available construction season.
District Review Meeting at Mualnuam
Later in the day, the Deputy Commissioner chaired a District Review Meeting at the Mualnuam Sub-Divisional Headquarters, focusing on the overall implementation status of development schemes and ongoing projects across Churachandpur district.
