The District Administration, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Shri Dharun Kumar S, conducted an extensive field inspection along the NH-102B corridor to review progress of ongoing highway works being executed by the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL).
Accompanied by ADC Mualnuam Shri Thangboi Gangte, the inspection focused on project sites across multiple construction packages that are crucial for improving road connectivity within the district and strengthening Manipur’s internal transport network.
Slow Progress in Packages 4A & 4B Sparks Concern
During the ground verification, officials observed delays in Packages 4A and 4B. Expressing disappointment over the sluggish pace of work, the Deputy Commissioner directed NHIDCL engineers and contractors to step up construction immediately, stressing that the State’s limited working season — heavily restricted by rainfall and terrain conditions — demands maximum utilisation of every operational day.
“Work must move on a war-footing. Every available dry day counts,” the DC reportedly told project officials on site.
