🍚 During the DIPR Meet the Press programme, the Department of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (CAF&PD), Government of Manipur highlighted its ongoing initiatives to strengthen food security, consumer protection and the Public Distribution System (PDS). Officials said around 21.13 lakh beneficiaries are covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) through 5.81 lakh ration cards, while free rice under PMGKAY has been extended until December 2028. The department also highlighted digital reforms, including ePOS-enabled Fair Price Shops, One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC), progress on a new rice mill under SASCI, and measures to improve price monitoring and consumer grievance redressal.
