Manipur Police Arrest Two Militants from KYKL and PREPAK (PRO)

Manipur Police arrested two active militants belonging to the Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) and the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) [PREPAK (PRO)] from different locations on Wednesday.

KYKL Cadre Arrested at Imphal International Airport

One of the arrested individuals, identified as Shamjetsabam Romananda Singh (23), was taken into custody at Imphal International Airport. The arrest was carried out under the jurisdiction of Singjamei Police Station in Imphal West District.

PREPAK (PRO) Cadre Caught in Singjamei Makha

Meanwhile, another militant associated with PREPAK (PRO) was arrested from Singjamei Makha, Kakwa Asem Leikai, near M/s Ken Automobiles Works. This operation was also conducted under the supervision of Singjamei Police Station.

Involvement in Extortion Activities

According to police reports, the arrested PREPAK (PRO) cadre was directly involved in extortion activities. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover further details related to their operations.

The arrests are part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to curb militant activities in the region.
