The Myanmar-based Eastern Flank faction of the NSCN-IM has announced the formation of a provisional government, marking a major split within the organisation. The faction alleged that the Camp Hebron leadership had compromised on key Naga political demands during peace talks with the Centre and announced the expulsion of General Secretary Th. Muivah and Chairman Q. Tuccu. It also linked the development to recent tensions following the killing of four Eastern Flank cadres in Kamjong district.
