The Governor-in-Council has approved an increase in Ration Money allowance for personnel of the Manipur Police Department, fulfilling a long-standing demand of the force.
The allowance has been raised from ₹2,000 to ₹2,500 per head per month, effective September 1, 2025. The hike will benefit personnel across all units, including the Manipur Rifles, India Reserve Battalion, Civil Police, Police Telecommunication Organisation, Central Motor Transport Workshop, and Village Defence Force.
“This is not just a financial measure, but a morale booster,” said a senior police official. “Our personnel have been on the frontlines through extremely difficult times. This step acknowledges their sacrifices and motivates them to continue serving with dedication.”
For the past two years and three months, Manipur Police personnel have shouldered immense responsibility during a turbulent law and order situation. Their sustained efforts have contributed to significant improvements in stability and security across the state.
The Department expressed its gratitude to the State Government, noting that the welfare of police personnel is central to strengthening law enforcement and ensuring public safety in Manipur.
