The third-quarter meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) for Bishnupur district began today at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat. The two-day review, organised by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), will conclude on November 17.
The session was chaired by Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, MP of Inner Manipur and Chairman of the DISHA Committee.
Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam welcomed the MP and briefed the gathering on recent district-level initiatives, field inspections, and efforts to strengthen grassroots implementation across departments.
DC Reaffirms Commitment to Transparency and Timely Delivery
In her remarks, DC Pooja Elangbam reiterated that the administration remains focused on transparency, accountability, and timely execution of government schemes—core priorities of the DISHA framework. She highlighted ongoing monitoring efforts and recent field visits undertaken to address delivery gaps and improve coordination.
Officials from Health, Education, Zilla Parishad, Agriculture, and other key sectors presented detailed progress updates as well as Action Taken Reports on observations from the previous DISHA meeting held on July 11–12, 2025.
MP Bimol Stresses Preventive Healthcare, Praises Equipment Upgrade
Reviewing the district’s progress, MP Dr. Bimol Akoijam commended the district administration—particularly the DC and CMO—for facilitating the procurement of upgraded ultrasound machines for District Hospital Bishnupur and CHC Ningthoukhong.
He emphasised the need to strengthen the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Stroke (NPCDCS).
According to the MP, investing in preventive healthcare not only improves overall well-being but also reduces the financial burden of costly out-of-state treatments, thereby benefiting the state’s economy in the long run.

Calling on officials to work to their full capacity, Dr. Bimol noted that development often accelerates through steady, incremental improvements rather than dramatic leaps. He encouraged departments to identify challenges early, collaborate effectively, and maintain a solution-oriented approach.
The MP also interacted directly with officers regarding implementation hurdles, assuring them of full support within his official capacity.
