In a proud moment for Manipur and the Indian police fraternity, Director General of Police (DGP) Manipur, Shri Rajiv Singh, felicitated two outstanding officers—Jemadar L. Kumarjit Meitei and Woman Assistant Sub-Inspector (W/ASI) Soram Rani Devi—who brought home a total of five medals from the recently concluded 2025 World Police and Fire Games held in Birmingham, Alabama, USA.
At a special ceremony held at the Police Headquarters, the DGP congratulated both officers for their remarkable achievements and for representing India with distinction at the international level.

DGP Rajiv Singh, while speaking at the event, said:

International Recognition
The World Police and Fire Games, an international multi-sport event, draws participation from active and retired law enforcement and fire service personnel from around the globe. The 2025 edition, hosted in Birmingham, Alabama, witnessed fierce competition, with athletes showcasing not only their professional capabilities but also their physical and mental endurance.
Both officers trained rigorously ahead of the competition and expressed gratitude to the department for its support. Speaking after the felicitation, W/ASI Soram Rani Devi said:
“I am deeply honoured by the recognition and happy to bring gold medals home. Competing at the international level has been a dream come true.”

The Manipur Police Department is reportedly considering institutional support for sporting initiatives within the force, following the inspiring success of its officers at international platforms.
