This coordinated crackdown comes amid heightened surveillance and efforts to dismantle insurgent networks operating in the valley and foothill districts. The KCP (PWG) has been linked to various extortion rackets and sporadic acts of violence, often targeting civilians and small business owners.

Officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are likely as interrogations progress.

A senior police officer stated,

“These arrests were part of a strategic push to destabilize the remaining operational arms of proscribed groups. No one involved in extortion or violence will be spared.”
