Imphal, July 7, 2025 – In a significant move aimed at strengthening the party’s organizational framework, the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has appointed Shri Hanjabam Jayedev Sharma of Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency as the Interim President of the Imphal East District Congress Committee (DCC). The decision was made public through an official order issued by Md. Wahidur Rahman, General Secretary (Organisation), MPCC.
The appointment, which comes into effect immediately, was sanctioned by Shri Keisham Meghachandra Singh, Hon’ble President of MPCC. It is part of the ongoing party re-organization for the year 2025–2026 and aligns with the active engagement of the Congress party in the ongoing Samvidhan Bachao Rallies across the state.
This move fills the vacuum left by the untimely demise of former Imphal East DCC President Md. Alaoddin, who passed away on March 15, 2025, following a prolonged illness.
