In the run-up to the 79th Independence Day celebrations, the Manipur Police Department in collaboration with the Youth Affairs and Sports Department organised a grand “Har Ghar Tiranga” Bike Rally today, symbolising unity, patriotism, and the spirit of the tricolour.
The event was flagged off at Hatta Kangjeibung by Hon’ble Governor of Manipur, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, along with Security Advisor Shri Kuldiep Singh, Chief Secretary Shri Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, and Director General of Police Shri Rajiv Singh, IPS. The rally concluded at the historic Khongjom War Memorial Complex in Thoubal district.
Over 1,000 Riders Carry the Tricolour Across the State
The rally witnessed over 1,000 riders from more than 20 prominent rider clubs across Manipur, alongside personnel from various units of Manipur Police. Decked in patriotic colours and waving the national flag, participants rode through key routes, spreading the message of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to every corner of the state.
Warm Reception at Khongjom War Memorial
Upon arrival at the Khongjom War Memorial Complex, the riders were received by Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal, Mrs. Hannah Kamei, IAS, along with senior police officials. The DGP of Manipur, Shri Rajiv Singh, IPS, presided as the Chief Guest for the culmination ceremony.
In his address, the DGP expressed heartfelt appreciation for the rider clubs and police units for their spirited participation, stating that such initiatives “further ignite the collective pride and unity among citizens.” He also interacted with participants, acknowledging their role in amplifying the message of patriotism and unity.
Mementos as a Token of Gratitude
As a gesture of appreciation, the DGP presented mementos to the office bearers of all participating rider clubs. The event concluded with a collective pledge to uphold the ideals represented by the Indian tricolour, with renewed enthusiasm ahead of Independence Day.
