In a symbolic tribute to the legacy of Lamyanba Hijam Irawat, the RPI Students’ Wing – Integrated Manipur Students’ Alliance (IMSA) was formally established on his birth anniversary at 11 Safdarjung Road, New Delhi.
The new student body aspires to bring together young minds under a shared vision of “Cooperative, Commitment, and Courage,” the three pillars that will guide IMSA’s mission of service and social welfare.

The choice of date and occasion is deeply meaningful. Hijam Irawat, remembered as a revolutionary, reformer, and advocate for the working class, has long been a source of inspiration for movements rooted in justice and equality. By aligning its founding with Irawat’s anniversary, IMSA signals its commitment to continue that legacy in contemporary contexts.
Mission and Vision
The alliance has pledged to work tirelessly for:
Strengthening cooperative spirit among students and youth.
Promoting commitment to social causes that impact Manipur and its people.
Fostering courage in leadership, ensuring youth voices contribute meaningfully to decision-making spaces.
The establishment event also saw the introduction of IMSA’s newly appointed office bearers, who will lead the organisation in its formative years. Members expressed their determination to create opportunities for growth, learning, and impactful contributions, both in Delhi and back home in Manipur.
