Security forces in Manipur have ramped up search operations and area domination exercises across fringe and vulnerable regions, amid ongoing efforts to stabilise the law and order situation in the state.
As part of the coordinated drive, a total of 111 Nakas/Checkpoints were set up across various districts—both in the hill and valley areas—ensuring enhanced vigilance and interception capabilities.
According to official sources, six individuals were detained at these checkpoints during routine inspections. The identities and reasons for detention are being verified as part of ongoing security assessments.
“These operations are part of a sustained effort to prevent unlawful activities, monitor movement in sensitive zones, and reassure local communities,” a senior police official stated.
The renewed push for security enforcement comes in light of recent discussions at the national level regarding the extension of President’s Rule in the state and the Centre’s continued focus on restoring peace in Manipur.
