Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh met a delegation of Manipur’s women polo players at the Secretariat to discuss the current status of women’s polo and the challenges faced by the athletes. Highlighting polo’s origin in Manipur, he noted the state’s significant contribution to the sport, with nearly three-fourths of India’s women polo players coming from Manipur. The Government reaffirmed its commitment to promoting indigenous sports and supporting women athletes to excel at the national and international levels.
