The Villages Community Progressive Committee – Manipur (VCPC-Manipur) marked its 9th Foundation Day with a heartfelt celebration held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy Hall in Imphal. The event brought together community leaders, social workers, and partner organizations to reflect on nearly a decade of grassroots work promoting unity, social justice, and peace across Manipur.
The occasion was graced by members of the United Manipur Progressive Committee (UMPC), whose leadership team attended as special guests and extended warm greetings to the VCPC family.
In a congratulatory message, UMPC-Manipur praised VCPC’s “continuous efforts and commitment towards strengthening the social fabric of Manipur through inclusive development and people-driven initiatives.”
A Journey of Nine Years
Founded in 2016, VCPC-Manipur has steadily grown into one of the state’s most active community-based organizations. Its work spans rural empowerment, conflict resolution, cooperative initiatives, and advocacy for socialism and social equity.
Over the years, the committee has initiated several local programs addressing livelihood challenges, women’s participation, and inter-village collaboration — focusing on “progress through partnership.”
At the Foundation Day event, several speakers highlighted VCPC’s role in creating a shared space for dialogue and collective action at the grassroots. “True progress comes from unity and understanding,” one of the senior members said. “VCPC has shown that villages working together can achieve stability, justice, and growth.”
